I finally got a couple of weeks off work, so I could take a trip to see Bob in California. He has been working in San Mateo, CA for about 4 weeks. After working on Sunday, April 6, I took a taxi out to the airport to take my first JetBlue flight. Since I work soooo hard for JetBlue, I thought I might enjoy one of the perks...free flying! When I got to the airport, I thought I wouldn't make it on the flight because I was #7 (out of 7) on the stand-by list, but I made it. I got to sit in one of the jumpseats...not that comfy, but I got to the San Francisco Airport, where my little Bobby was waiting for me. He was staying at the Residence Inn, and we hung out together from Sunday nite until Friday afternoon, when Monica and the girls (Ariel and Tatum) came to spend the week-end with us. They had a long ride from Reno, but it was so great to see them again. (We hadn't visited with them since climbing Mt. Timpanogas last July!)
We had a great room at the hotel. I stayed there all week with Bob in a studio apartment. The hotel gave Bob a limo ride to and from work everyday, and when I needed to go shopping after I got there...they gave me a limo ride to Target!! Pretty cool, huh?
On Thursday evening, we moved to a larger room. It was a "penthouse" suite, so the girls had lots of room to run around in! Monica, Ariel and Tatum got there on Friday evening (April 12th).
Early on Saturday morning, we left to go to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium... about a 2-hour drive. We picked the perfect day to go---it was the warmest day of the year so far in California. My favorite part of the aquarium was all of the jellyfish displays. Ariel and Tatum loved the sea otters, and getting to pet the stingrays. Monica's favorite was eating at "Louie Linguini's" We had so much fun, and when we got back to the hotel, all of the girls went swimming in the hotel pool.
We all got wet (even Bob)! I got wet by putting my feet in the hot tub, Monica got wet because she got in the pool and so did Ariel and Tatum. Tatum was scared at first but got used to it when Monica got in! We all had fun but the person who I think had the most fun was Ariel! She said, "The best part of the pool fun was when Bob pulled me in the life preserver with a rope. I went so fast I almost drowned. It was awesome! The sad thing was that they made me get out!" That child, what are we going to do with her!?!
