HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
We are all excited about having a new year ahead of us. We have lots of trips planned, so I'll try to keep our blog updated. I'm planning on adding pictures this year, so it should be more interesting!
Happy Birthday to all of our family and friends who have birthdays in January!
HAPPY 13TH BIRTHDAY TO OUR OLDEST GRANDDAUGHTER, ARIEL! What a special girl she is. She's our track star and our soccer star, and is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Ariel, Bob (Grandpa) and I (G-Ma) are very proud of you and all of your accomplishments so far in your life. We are so proud of you and we love you so much!! We'll try to stay updated on all of your many activities this year, and we'll add lots of pictures.
(Bob is helping out with the blog, since I've gotten behind....I'll get caught up and we'll make this year much better than last!)
At the end of 2010, Ree and I were travelling back from Reno, Nevada to Salt Lake City. We had come out to Reno to visit Monica and her girls. We flew out after Christmas. We were travelling back to Salt Lake City in a 16 foot moving van that we had rented. We brought back the piano that we had given Monica a few years back as she doesn’t have room for it in her present house.
We were watched over from on high as we did not hit any snow on the way back to Salt Lake City. We spent one night in Elko which is about half way. The next day we made it all the way to Salt Lake City where it was snowing heavily. The clouds pulled as we got off the freeway at Lake Point and we were able to get the moving van back to our house even though there was 18 inches of snow on the ground. We hit the traffic lights just right and didn’t lose traction in the snow with the van. We were truly blessed.
I was home during the first half of January. Ree and I did get sick after the trip. Other than that we enjoyed our time together. I traveled to Louisiana for the last two weeks of the month. It was Ariels birthday in January. Besides giving her money, Ree also made a “blankie” for her. Ree also sewed covers for the Young Women’s Progress books.
Angela and her family went to Las Vegas for five days in January. They visited Hoover Dam and sights in Las Vegas including some shows. The also visited the pawn shop where the History Channel’s Pawn Stars is filmed. They had a great time.
I came down to Atlanta on January 31st and I am still here as of this writing (February 6th)….. Super Bowl Sunday.
