Happy Birthday to my sister-in-law, Julie and my brother-in-law, Bryan, on September 2nd.
Happy Birthday to my daughter, Angela on September 19th.
Happy Birthday to my grandson, Ian on September 23rd.
and Happy Birthday to my sweet husband, Robert on September 30th.
This month has been slow compared to the last 2 months. Bob has been gone most of the month. He had a trip to Pennsylvania, and then a trip to Virginia.
His parents went with him to Virginia. While they were there, they visited Washington D.C. They visited the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of American History. He sent pictures of dinosaurs and the "Hope Diamond" to me on the cell phone. (I told him he should bring the diamond home for me...since I didn't get to go)
They also visited Kenny, Christa and the kids in D.C. Kenny is our nephew who is our "FBI" man now.
I've mentioned several times before that I work at JetBlue Airways as a reservationist. I work from home and take lots of calls, and talk to hundreds of people. Most of them are very nice, and some calls are really memorable. One call I had last week was great. As a was talking to the customer, he asked me if I was in Salt Lake. He said, " I don't know if you are a Mormon or not, but I wanted to tell you that when I visited the tabernacle there in Salt Lake, I had a wonderful experience." He proceeded to tell me that he was born Catholic, but is now a Christian, but doesn't go to any church. He said that as he visited the tabernacle with the choir singing, he said he had never felt closer to God in his life. He said he had never been one to talk of spiritual things, but he could just picture that was how heaven would be. He said that the feeling he had was so strong, that he couldn't deny it and that he will never forget it. Is that a wonderful thing...that someone who is not a member of our church can go to our tabernacle and have such a spiritual experience. Just imagine that if all the members of our church, whether active or not, could get that same feeling. It made me think and imagine how much stronger that feeling is when we go into the temple and feel our Heavenly Father's presence there. We are so blessed to have the gospel and our temples here. I hope that we can all realize how lucky we are in this area to have these places so close to us and to know that our gospel plan is perfect and that we can live with our Heavenly Father again one day.
Angela is my oldest daughter. She had her birthday on September 19th. That's also the day I became a mother...the greatest calling and responsibility we as women can have. She is a great daughter, mother, step-mother and wife. She works full-time as a social worker for the elderly and others who need assistance. She is a very busy lady, but takes all of her callings seriously and always does her best. We are very proud of her and we are blessed to have
Ian is our oldest (Barrett) grandson. When he was born, Bob and I were able to be in the hospital room with Angela. After the nurses got him breathing, I was the first to be able to hold this special child...that's why I think we have such a close bond still today. After a very slow walk to the nursery, I dropped him off in there where they took care of him until they brought him to Angela later.
On September 23rd, he turned 12 years old. He will now graduate from primary and go into the young men's program. He will also be able to hold the Aaronic Priesthood. He will be able to pass the sacrament in church. We went to his ward on Sunday, where his Dad, Richard performed the ordinance. Bob and I came as well as Great-grandpa and Great-grandma Barrett.
Robert had his birthday on the last day of the month, September 30th. He doesn't like his birthdays, but I just keep reminding him what the alternative is. He has blessed my life so much and I am so proud of him. He has had success in his career and we have been blessed by that. Even though he has to travel so much, we are grateful that he has a job, and it is one that he enjoys.
He is a great man, a great husband, a wonderful father and grandfather. He loves his family so much. He is very dedicated to all of us, and we are so thankful that he is in our lives. Happy Birthday, Bugar!!!
