June was a good month. We were able to pick Ian up on my days off; we had fun playing tennis, going on walks, and playing miniature golf.
Bob was home, but at the first of the month, he got sick. We took him to the doctor for his bronchitis and probably pneumonia, but found out he also had the flu. The doctors had to assume that most people who got the flu had the "swine flu." He was really sick for over a week with a temperature of 102 degrees, but at least he was at home to recover.
We spent a lot of time in the yard, planting our garden and flowers and digging weeds. Bob did all the hard work. He dug out lots of weeds, and replaced them with some red lava rocks, and other places with bark, so now we won't have so many weeds to dig. We even chopped down a large branch of one of our crappy cottonwood trees. Ian helped us with that project. Bob used my little chain saw to chop it, and Ian and I stacked it up for firewood. I love working in the yard much more than inside the house!! (I need a maid for that!) I have too many projects to work on...I get overwhelmed.
We are now officially members of "SKYPE." Bob's sister, Joan told us about it. We got a web cam, and now, we can go on the computer and talk to Monica, Ariel and Tatum in Reno and SEE each other. It's great!!! I love to see them. We miss them so much, so it makes it a little easier this way.
Bob and Ian went fishing together the last week of the month and had lots of fun.
My best friend, Julie Grow and her husband, Dave had an open house that we went to.
Julie is my oldest, bestest friend. We have been friends since I was 11 and she was 10 years old. We grew up in Dade City, Florida together. She joined the LDS church and we met there. Her sister, Nola and my sister, Celia were all friends and had so much fun when we were small and also when we got to be teenagers. She moved to Maryland during high school, but we've stayed in touch all these years.
Anyway, back to the open house...Dave and Julie bought a new house out in Lehi, Utah. We got lost on the way there and had to call for directions. They have a beautiful new house in a new area. It is huge and beautiful!! How would it be to get to move into a new house, and have all new furniture!! I really don't know, but I'd like to! Julie has her Mom, Virginia Litres and her sister, Nola living with them. Nola started taking us on a tour. We got to visit with her and Virginia while we were there. I hadn't seen them in a long time so it was nice to visit.
Dave and Julie are very sweet. They put up with us visiting with them after everyone else had long gone. They are so adorable together. Dave's a great guy and we all get along well together. They are so blessed to be in a new house in a new neighborhood, but also they're two daughters have new houses right behind theirs. I would love it if I could have both my girls and the grandkids live so close to us!!! That would be so perfect!
Back to reality...Bob found out he has a hernia. He is not scheduled for surgery until August 4th, so I hope he's ok until then. He just needs to be a little more careful lifting stuff.
YEA FOR MONICA!!
At the end of the month, our daughter, Monica bought a new house in Reno, NV. They are in a beautiful neighborhood. I wanted to see what her house looked like, so I found it on googlemaps.com. I wasn't sure it was hers, so I e-mailed her, "is this your new house???" She's so proud!! She did it all by herself!! She's a single mom, so it wasn't easy, but she has worked hard for this, so she deserves it. Ariel and Tatum got new stuff for their new bedrooms, and they love the house. I can't wait until I get a chance to go visit them. WAY TO GO, KID!!
During June, Ariel went to her first camp. She was gone four days, and said that going to camp changed her life. She has been telling us how much fun she had. It was so good for her, and she's excited for next year so she can go again.
Tatum is getting so big and so TALL!! She had her graduation from kindergarten, and a ceremony with caps and gowns. Her picture is adorable. Ian and Ariel are out of 5th grade and ready to move on to 6th grade. Their new school pictures are great. (One day soon, I'll share them with everyone.) Anakhan will be going into 7th grade, and Azure will be going into 4th grade. They are all just getting so big!!!!
Well, it's July already and it's been busy, so we'll say good-bye to June!
