Happy Birthday to all my relatives with March birthdays. Happy Birthday to my niece, April Nelson. March 28th was my mother's birthday. This year, she would have been 74 years old! (She passed away in 1998 at the age of 61.)
March was a little busier for me than February was. I had several appointments. Besides my dentist appointment, I had a yearly check-up with my OB-GYN. I also had a mammogram and my first bone density test. Poor Bob, he had to have a colonoscopy because he was having some problems, but he is ok, thank goodness.
This month, we had our Relief Society Birthday Party on March 7th. It was really fun. I was on the planning committee. On Thursday, March 10th, Bob left for his annual trip to Guam. He stayed overnight in Seattle, WA. (The next day was the day of the earthquake in Japan, which I already wrote about on another blog! What a scary time for us!!!!)
That same evening,Friday, March 11th, I went across the street to the wedding reception of our friends son, Casey Greer. Our friends, Dave and Debbie are in our ward. Dave is one of our wonderful home teachers.
The next morning, I drove out to Centerville, UT to a wedding shower for Cassidee Swonson is engaged to our nephew, Tommy Barrett (now known as 'Tom'). The shower was really fun. Cassidee fits right into their family. They are all blonde and beautiful! She is really a sweet girl!!
The next week, I went visiting teaching, had 2 of my appointments scheduled, then, another busy week-end.
On Friday, March 18th, I drove back out to Layton, where we celebrated my sister-in-law, Nancy's birthday, along with my father-in-law's birthday. He is now 87 years old!! It was a very nice party. At the party, we all got to meet another soon-to-be niece-in-law. She had just arrived a few days earlier from Peru. Her name is Angela (...) soon to be Barrett. The following morning, on Saturday, March 19th, we went to the Salt Lake Temple to see her and our nephew, Matthew Barrett married there. It was a beautiful ceremony. They had a spanish interpreter for Angela and two of her relatives there to see her get married. That same evening, I attended Matthew and Angela's wedding reception at their church in Rose Park (Salt Lake).
The third week of March was a little slower. On that Saturday, March 26th, Monica and Tatum flew from Reno. Monica brought Tatum to stay a couple of weeks with me. Monica flew back home on Monday, March 28th.
My grandson, Ian, had his spring break this week, so he and Tatum and I had fun all week. On Tuesday, March 29th, we went to the Planetarium and Children's Museum downtown, besides a lot of other fun things we did. We went swimming, played with nerf guns, watched movies and played lots of video games. Ian stayed over every night with Tatum and I that week.
On Wednesday, March 30th, Tatum, Ian and I drove out Bountiful to Tom and Cassidee's wedding dinner. The next morning, Ian and Tatum stayed home while I went back to the Salt Lake Temple to see Tom and Cassidee's wedding ceremony. (Angela came over to watch them a few minutes after I left.) It was another beautiful wedding.
That same evening, Bob got home from Guam and we drove back out to their wedding reception. It was beautiful. Tatum loves Cassidee, and she was so excited to stand in line and get a hug from her in her wedding gown!
What a crazy but really fun month!!
