MARCH 2009

March 1st was on Sunday. On my work schedule, I have to work from 9am-12noon, then get ready for church from 1pm-4pm. That makes for a long day!!
I don't think I mentioned that besides Bob teaching once a month in the High Priest Class, he is also teaching the Temple Preparation Class. He can only do it every other week, because of his travel schedule. (One of the bishopric teaches it the Sundays when he is away.) This is the second time he has taught the class. There are about 5 couples in the class...one is engaged.
On March 2nd Bob was supposed to have a cab pick him up to go to the airport, but...no cab showed up, so I took him at 4:30am. He's left again for Ruston, La, and came home on Thurday, March 12th.
The next morning, we went to the Jordan River Temple. We had a great week-end together, went shopping on Saturday, and had fun just hanging out. (We don't get to do that very often.
On Sunday, Bob taught both his priesthood class, and his last temple prep class.
It was a very special day! Then, he had to leave again at midnight. His trip this time is to a new client in Akron, Ohio.
On Friday, March 20th, Bob's Dad and Mom had their wedding anniversary.
Then on Saturday March 21st, Bob's Dad, William Glenn Barrett, turned 85 years old.
Congratulations on both of these special days!!!
Great-grampa was great at his birthday party. Nancy and Julie had it planned so well. We ate pizza and birthday cake; then, Grampa led us all in singing "Happy Birthday" to himself. After we ate, Nancy was the emcee, and she interviewed him and we all got to enjoy his silly sense of humor. He decided to honor all of those who had 50% or less of his genes..with cash. Since he was turning 85, his children all got $42.50; his grandchildren all got $21.25, and so forth. He even gave $10 to all the sons and daughters-in-law! We all had a great time, and we are blessed to have him and Great-grandma in our lives for all these many years. (Sorry...I should call them my father and mother-in-law.) They are the best in-laws I could've ever dreamed of having. Thanks for all you have done for Bob and I and our kids and grandkids. WE REALLY LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This month, I have been busy planning our family trip to San Diego for the end of this month. I've been working extra hours to be able to get off work for those days. We are leaving on Sunday, March 29th, and will return on April 2nd. We will be pass-riding on JetBlue, so we need lots of luck getting all 10 of us on the flight!
We are so excited!! Everyone has been getting ready for the trip. I even ran into Angela at Walmart last Saturday!
Monica and the girls will be driving here the day before we leave. Our trip is from Sunday, March 29th until April 2nd.
SAN DIEGO HERE WE COME!
